Reservation Terms & Conditions.

DRIVER’S LICENSE AND CREDIT CARD REQUIREMENTS

1. Valid driver's license, passport and major credit card must be presented upon arrival at the rental counter.
2. Name on credit card and driver's license must match.
3. International drivers license holders must present a valid drivers license from renters/ drivers country of origin, authorizing operation of an automobile..

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

Additional driver charge is USD/ 5.00 + applicable taxes per day for the first 5 days of rental, and applies to any additional driver except a spouse, domestic partner or one surrogate driver for a mobility impaired renter who meets the age, driver license and rental requirements. 

AGE

Drivers must be 25+ years of age. A USD/ 14.95 fee per day + applicable taxes will be applied to drivers between the ages of 19 and under 25 years of age for the first 5 days of rental.

BUSINESS HOURS

  1. Santo Domingo city locations:

    1.  Av. Independencia operates from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from monday to friday, and on saturday, sunday and holidays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

    2. Diamond Mall operates from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from monday to friday, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on saturdays and is closed on sundays and holidays. All after hour pick ups or drop offs must be made in Av. Independencia location.

  2. Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) operates 24/7 all year long.

  3. Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) operates from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm all year long.

  4. El Cibao International Airport (STI) operates 24/7 all year long. 

  5. Santiago City - Plaza Vera location operates from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm from monday to friday, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on saturdays and is closed on sundays and holidays.

  6. Gregorio Luperón International Airport - Puerto Plata (POP) operates from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm all year long.

LATE PICK UPS

  1. Vehicles are held for two hours after reserved arrival time. When flight details are provided, we will hold your vehicle up to two hours after flight arrival.

  2. In the event of delays, you may contact the pick up location directly or one of our customer service representatives to advise any changes in your pick up time. Tel. +1-809-687-0505 (WhatsApp Available) or email us at service@amerirent.do.

  3. After the two-hour window, you will be considered a no-show and we may or may not honor your reservation, depending upon availability.

 AIRPORT PICK UPS

  1. A 10% airport fee will be applied if the vehicle is arranged for pick up at an airport.

  2. If reservation is made for pick up in a city location and modified for pick up at an airport, please be aware that total cost of rental will vary. A 10% airport fee will be applied.

HOTEL PICK UPS

Customers who have a confirmed reservation and are staying in a hotel in the town of pick up locations need to contact the pick up location directly or one of our customer service representatives to arrange for pick up and transport to the rental location.  VEHICLE DELIVERY

 Customers who have a confirmed reservation and wish to have the vehicle delivered to a location in the town of pick up location, need to contact the pick up location directly or one of our customer service representatives for delivery options and arrangements.  ONE-WAY RENTALS

 One-way rentals are allowed. If the pick-up/drop of locations are selected in your reservation, a drop off fee should be applied to your reservation. If the drop off location is changed during pick up or during the rental a drop off fee will be applied. The Customer Service representative will inform you of the applicable fee for the requested drop off.

CANCELLATIONS 

  1. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the reservation date and time.

  2. If you do not pick up the vehicle on the scheduled day, your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit.

  PAYMENTS

For “Pay at the Counter” reservations, payment of the reservation total + any additional service hired will be collected at the counter at the time of pick up.

 For “Pre-Paid” reservations, no payment will be required, unless there’s any additional service or coverage hired upon pick up; If so, payment will be collected at the time of pick up. See PREPAID RESERVATION rules.

 If during your rental you request to extend your rental period, payment for the additional time, coverage and services will be required at that moment.

 Upon dropping off the vehicle, if there is any additional outstanding amount to be paid, it will be collected at that moment. Also, if there are any incidental charges, they will be collected upon drop off.

 PREPAID RESERVATIONS RULES

1. Payments for rentals or reservations made via PayPal will only be valid if the person who made the payment is the same that picks up the vehicle.

a. If the person who will pick up the vehicle is different from the person who made the payment via PayPal, an email to service@amerirent.do. authorizing the person renting the vehicle must be sent from the email that appears on reservation and PayPal payment for payment to be valid.If these conditions are not met, prepayment will not be honored.

2. Upon Pick up, renter must present the same card with which payment or payments were made. Card holder must be present.

3. Prepaid reservations can be cancelled 24 hours prior to the pick-up time. If so, a full refund will apply.

4. If the reservation is cancelled less than 24 hours before scheduled pick-up but 4 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, 70% of the prepaid amount will apply for refund.

5. Prepaid reservations can’t be cancelled less than 4 hours of pick-up time. A refund will not apply. 

6. If the customer does not arrive for pick-up of the vehicle on scheduled pick up day, refunds will not apply.

 If the customer doesn’t meet the DRIVER’S LICENSE AND CREDIT CARD REQUIREMENTS, the DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT or INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS, or any other term or condition described in this document, and therefore cannot make the rental, refunds will not apply.

 FORMS OF PAYMENT  

  1. Payment will be collected at the counter at the time of rental. For Final Payment we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Debit Cards, payments through PayPal and cash for final payments. We do not accept Checks, cryptocurrencies, or Apple Pay.

  2. Personal checks are not accepted.

  3. No refunds are made for early vehicle returns or contract cancellations.

  4. A security deposit authorization will be required at the counter at the time of rental. The amount will vary depending on vehicle class and optional insurance policy selected.

  5. The security deposit authorization will be captured at the time of rental, this authorization may be used towards late charges, damages to the vehicle or any other outstanding balance upon return.

  6. Unused funds of the security deposit authorization will be released after the vehicle is returned and all charges have been paid.

  7. Customers who do not have a credit or debit card may be denied rental.

  8. If you have a reservation you may pay on arrival, however, to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle.

 Debit cards may be used for final payment. When security deposit authorization is made with a debit card, your bank may take up to 30-45 business days for the security authorization fund to be reflected as available again in your bank account.

 We recommend using a credit card for security deposit authorization.

 DEPOSIT RULES

  1. For rental of a vehicle, a security deposit with a card is required. This security authorization must be made with a card with the renters name.

  2. Security Deposits can be made only Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club credit cards. It can also be made with a Debit card, but it’s not recommended. Security deposits cannot be made with cash, or PayPal.

  3. Rental cannot be made without a valid and active credit or debit card with availability of funds for the security deposit authorization.

  4. Security deposit authorization is made as a hold on your card and is annulled upon return of the vehicle in the same conditions as it was given (including gas). The fund will be reflected as available again in your bank account approximately in:

    1. 5-7 business days if made with a credit card.

    2. 30-45 business days if made with a debit card.

Time may vary according to the customer's bank policies. 

5.    The amount of the deposit will vary depending on vehicle class and optional insurance policy selected. Please see INSURANCE and PROTECTION PRODUCT. 

Debit cards may be used for final payment. When security deposit authorization is made with a debit card, your bank may take up to 30-45 business days for the security authorization fund to be reflected as available again in your bank account. 

We recommend using a credit card for security deposit authorization.

 DEBIT CARDS

 GAS

 Vehicle must be dropped off with the same amount of gas as it was picked up. If the vehicle is returned with less gas than given, it will be charged at Amerirent rate.

 Upon Pick up, you may be able to purchase a pre-paid full tank.

 GEOGRAPHIC

 It is not allowed to cross the Haitian border with one of our rental vehicles or take the vehicle out of the island.

 INSURANCE

  1. Liability protection coverage in the Dominican Republic is required on all rental vehicles. A liability protection fee is included in your reservation for basic liability coverage. Renters will have the option of purchasing additional liability insurance protection upon pick up at the counter.   

  2. At the time of rental Renter will be required to have a form of insurance for collision and damages valid in Dominican Republic that covers the rental vehicle. Renters will have the option of purchasing Amerirent Insurance and Waiver coverage upon making the reservation or pick up at the counter. Customers may also purchase and rely on third party Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage waiver (LDW). To rely on a third-party Insurance provider customer will have to provide written proof of coverage for the Dominican Republic directed to Amerirent and making direct reference to vehicle class rented. The presentation of a credit card or personal auto insurance is not proof of coverage. Be aware that if you have purchased or are relying on third party Collision Damage Waiver, any injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle will be charged to your credit card and the renter will need to seek reimbursement from the third-party policy. A USD/3,000 credit card authorization will be required at the time of rental. Without proof the renter will be required to purchase Collision Damage Waiver from Amerirent.  PROTECTION PRODUCTS

  1. Liability Protection Coverage is required on all rental vehicles. All reservations include a basic third-party liability coverage that protects you against claims for injury/damage you cause to third persons/their property. It does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. Property damage/public liability covers up to 9,000.00 USD. Supplemental liability insurance (SLI) is an optional coverage that you may obtain at the counter to increase the liability coverage limit to USD 1,000,000.00 USD + legal assistance and bail if needed. Cost 7.95 + Applicable Taxes per day.

  2. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your financial liability for collision damages to the vehicle as a result of a traffic accident, its parts and accessories except for damages to tires, windshield, interior damage, theft, attempted theft or vandalism provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

    a. CDW Insurance Deductible is USD/ 500.00 for economy through standard
    vehicles and USD/ 1,000.00 for specialty vehicles, vans and SUVs. Cost 12.95.00
    + Applicable Taxes per day.

    b. CDW Deductible Waiver to reduce to zero for economy through standard
    vehicles and to USD/ 500.00 for specialty vehicles, vans and SUVs. Cost 9.95.00
    + Applicable Taxes per day.

    3. Comprehensive Damage Protection reduces your financial liability for damage to the vehicle that is not the result of a traffic accident, its parts, and accessories except for damages to tires, windshield, interior damage, theft, attempted theft, or vandalism provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

 4.    Tires and Glass Protection covers all tires and all windows in the vehicle, including the windshield, side windows and mirror glass. Cost 6.95.00 + Applicable Taxes per day.

5.    Theft Waiver Vehicle covers the theft of your rental car, damage resulting from the theft. Cost 7.00 + Applicable Taxes per day.

6.    Theft Waiver Parts covers the theft of your rental car, damage resulting from the theft of part and accessories. Cost 7.75 + Applicable Taxes per day.

7. Interior Damage Waiver covers damage to the interior of the car that is not a result of a car accident such as dirt, falling objects, broken parts, damage to the seats or scratch to interior parts. Cost 2.50 + Applicable Taxes per day.

8. Road Assistance provides 24-hour emergency road assistance services and includes towing, jump-start, flat tire change, lockout service and emergency fuel delivery. Cost 3.00 + Applicable Taxes per day.

 Additional protection plans packages bundle individual coverage at a more convenient price. Options are available upon making the reservation or pick up at the counter. Packages available are:

  1. Basic Protector Includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Comprehensive Damages, Supplemental liability insurance and Road Assistance.

    Regular Cost of these coverages: 30.85 + Applicable Taxes per day. Bundle Cost: 25.00 + Applicable Taxes per day. Saves 18.96%

  2. Grand Protector InIncludes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Comprehensive Damages, Supplemental liability insurance, Road Assistance, Theft Waiver, Vehicle and Tires and Glass Protection.
     Regular Cost of these coverages: 44.80 + Applicable Taxes per day.
    Bundle Cost: 32.00 + Applicable Taxes per day. Saves 28.57%.

  3. Grand protector plus Includes all coverages. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Comprehensive Damages, Supplemental liability insurance, Road Assistance, Theft Waiver Vehicle and Parts, Tires and Glass Protection, CDW Deductible Waiver, Interior Damage Waiver.
    Regular Cost of these coverages: 65.00 + Applicable Taxes per day.
    Bundle Cost: 42.00 + Applicable Taxes per day. Saves 35.38%
